Minnesotans continue to experience the effects of Covid-19, Long Covid and other post-viral chronic conditions. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has a comprehensive set of information and resources about what is happening in Minnesota and how Minnesotans experience symptoms and effects.
MDH also has created a Statewide Roadmap to Address Long COVID and Post-Viral Chronic Conditions.
There is also continuing nationwide attention to Long Covid and PVCC as shown by these stories and reports:
- WBUR (June 2026) The scope of long COVID is bigger than we think, Mass. researchers say: “Six years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of Americans have suffered long-term symptoms of the virus. But exactly how many people developed long COVID — defined as when symptoms last at least three months — is hard to pin down. Scientists are still trying to understand how the disease works, and doctors don’t always know how to recognize it.”
- Bloomberg (May 2026) Doctors Rebuffed by Courts in Long Covid and Disability Fights: “DelValle’s fight for long-term disability is one of dozens of court battles by workers with long Covid, a new test of a system that lawyers and academics say is stacked against them. The complex, yearslong process passes judgment on enrollees from afar and is filled with conflicts of interest that benefit the insurer, according to court opinions, plaintiffs’ complaints, and interviews with lawyers and academics.”
