Home Based Services (HBS)

Personalized options offer a range of service.

With MCIL’s Home Based Services (HBS), consumers receiving Personal Care Assistance (PCA) or Homemaker Services in the seven-country metro area can interview, schedule, and manage all aspects of the personal care employee relationship. MCIL also provides direct support to the personal care staff.

When a person works with MCIL’s Home Based Services Department, the individual is in charge of who they hire, the extent of the contract with their Direct Support Professional (DSP), and/or PCA, and services to be provided. MCIL connects participants to a wide range of options, and the individual can choose what services best suit their needs and take charge of managing the ongoing relationship.

Once the county approves an individual for services, a member of MCIL’s dedicated team will meet with them to discuss their needs, goals, and objectives. A Home Based Services representative will explore the best set of options through our personalized intake process, and then match an individual with appropriate service providers.

What MCIL offers:

  • Access to licensed homemaking services (DSP) through the 245D waiver program
  • A path and plan to implement a DHS personalized service plan through MCIL’s PCA services

MCIL’s Home Based Services Department works with Medicaid, waiver programs, and private-pay, and serves individuals across the metro seven-county area.

Whether an individual is referred to us from county services, by a friend, an information center, or is just starting their search for services, MCIL welcomes the opportunity to explore how our Home Based Services team can be of best assistance.

For information about acquiring PCA, DSP and homemaking services, if you’ve been approved for services and would like to arrange and intake meeting, or if you have general questions about services of this nature, please contact us.
