Disability Disclosure for Employment and Community Integration

• Listen to experts explain what the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has to say about disability disclosure in the workplace.

• Hear employers, employees, and job developers and consumers talk about their experiences with this complex issue.

• Share your stories about disability disclosure. Was it helpful? Do you have advice for others?

1:00 ADA, Disability Disclosure and the Workplace: Cindy Held Tarshish, Program Manager ADA Minnesota

1:45 Panel discussion
with representatives from Walgreens, a national leader in the recruitment of people with disabilities, Vocational Rehabilitation job development staff and consumers

2:30 Audience questions, comments and testimony


3:30 Panel discussion
on the special considerations of transition-aged youth and individuals with visible or hidden disabilities

4:30 to 6:00 public testimony

Vocational Rehabilitation Services

The councils are also seeking public testimony from Vocational Rehabilitation participants, present and former, about their experiences with the Vocational Rehabilitation program or other employment programs. What worked? What else is needed to assure employment success?

If you are unable to attend but would like to provide written testimony, it will be read at the forum and will be placed in the public record. Please limit your comments to five minutes. Must be submitted by June 25.
